PROPOSAL TO ESTABLISH TWO AWARDS FOR MATHEMATICS GRADUANDS AT THE DEGREE CONGREGATION - UNIVERSITY OF RUHUNA, SRI LANKA.

Educational Support Foundation Ruhuna Mathematics

Abstract:

The Educational Support Foundation Ruhuna Mathematics (ESFoRuM) is an organization formed upon the approval of the Council of University of Ruhuna whose central objective is to support and promote all kind of educational activities mainly in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. Here the ESFoRuM proposes to set-up two prizes to be awarded at the annual degree congregation of the University of Ruhuna - one for the outstanding B.Sc Mathematics Special Degree Student and the other for the outstanding B.Sc General Degree student who followed Applicable Mathematics/Industrial Mathematics as a subject.



  1.  Professor Isabelle Attali memorial,  CIMPA (International Centre for Pure and Applied Mathematics, France)  Gold Medal for the outstanding graduate who scored the higest aggregate at the B.Sc Special Degree Examination in  Mathematics withFirst Class (Honours), in the year 2004,  awarded  by the  ESFoRuM:

  1. Dr. Jude Peiris memorial, CIMPA (International Centre for Pure and Applied Mathematics, France) Gold Medal  for the outstanding graduate who scored the highest aggregate for the Applicable Mathematics/Industrial Mathematics course at the B.Sc General  Degree in Physical Science Examination   with at least a Second Class Upper Division (Honours), in the year 2004, awarded  by the ESFoRuM
