INTRODUCTION
The Department of Mathematics introduced an event in 2022 to provide a platform for undergraduates to present and share the research skills they gained through research projects completed within the department and the event was named the Mini-Symposium. It is organized annually by the Ruhuna University Mathematics and Statistics Society (RUMSS). The first Mini-Symposium was successfully held in virtual mode on the 27th of August 2022. This event is organized to celebrate the International Mathematics Day in March 2025 as declared by the International Mathematics Union.
OBJECTIVES
The main objective of this event is to encourage undergraduate students to experience the research culture in the fields of Mathematics and Statistics and to appreciate their contributions by providing them with a forum to enhance their research and communication skills.
