In conjunction with Mini Symposium 2025, we are excited to announce a poster competition to celebrate International Mathematics Day 2025. This event provides undergraduate students a platform to demonstrate their analytical and presentation skills in a creative and engaging way. Participants can enter the competition as individuals or teams, fostering collaboration and shared learning. This is your opportunity to combine the power of Mathematics and Statistics with creative expression. Whether you're passionate about solving complex problems, exploring mathematical concepts or simply showcasing how math connects us all, this competition is the perfect stage to shine.

    Registration Close

    The registration link will be closed and the contestents without prior registraion, will not be considered.

  • January 1, 2025

    Open for Submission

    The submission link will be open under Submission and Registraions.

  • February 07, 2025

    Submission Deadline

    The submission after the deadline will be disqualified without further notice.

  • March 01, 2025

    Announcing Winners

    The winners will be announced and they will be officially informed by the committee.

  • March 12, 2025

    Prize Giving

    The Prize giving and the exhibition will be held on the International Mathematics day.

Guidelines

Competition Guidelines



Participation is open exclusively to undergraduate students.

Participants may compete individually or as a group, with a maximum of five members per group.

A participant should not belong to more than one group.

The decision of the panel of judges will be the final.

The posters submitted without prior registration will not be considered for the competition.

An Individual/a Group can submit only one poster.

The poster must be submitted with the approval from the Head of the Department.

All submissions must be the original work of the participant(s). Use of AI-generated contents or compilations from other sources will be a disqualification without prior notice.

Poster Guidelines



Posters must be in A3 size.

The design should align with the theme “How Mathematics and Statistics Can Transform Sri Lanka”, and the concept or topic must clearly reflect this theme.

Posters may be in color or black and white.

Participants may use either digital or hand-drawn methods for designing their posters.

Regardless of the design method, submissions must be in PDF format. Hand-drawn posters may be scanned and submitted but should be in good quality.

A description (similar to an abstract) explaining how the candidate(s) addressed the theme must be included in the poster adhering to the following guidelines:

 • Positioning: Top-right corner of the poster.


 • Font: Times New Roman.


 • Font Size: Title - 14 pt and bold; Content - 12 pt.


 • Word Limit: Title - Maximum 100 characters; Content - Maximum 200 words.


A reader should be able to grasp the idea presented by the poster from this description.

Video Guidelines



The video must not exceed a maximum duration of 5 minutes.

The group may decide the number of participants who will present in the video.

The presenter(s) must be clearly visible while delivering the presentation.

2nd Place

RS: 10,000

3rd Place

RS: 7,500

Certificates will be awarded to all participants.
