The Mathematical & Statistical Modelling Week 2025 will be held from 06/12/2025 to 13/12/2025 at the Department of Mathematics, University of Ruhuna.
The focus of this workshop will be on “Mathematical modelling for solving real-world problems”. The goal is to create an interactive and collaborative environment that encourages participants to deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts through practical exercises, group discussions, and expert guidance. The workshop will also aim to create a community where participants can network, share ideas, and collaborate on future projects, with an emphasis on both theoretical and applied mathematics.
Day 1: Inauguration session and formation of groups based on the problem title.
Day 2–3: Each group works on the assigned problem.
Day 4: Discuss the progress of each group.
Day 5–6: Each group works on the assigned problem.
Day 7: Submit completed report/poster on the assigned problem.
Day 8: Presentation of solutions with Q&A sessions and closing remarks by experts.
